Tabatha Forbes - 06

Tabatha has completed a Masters Degree in Fine Arts at Elam and in 2005 won a ''Wild Creations Residency'' from Creative New Zealand and DOC to film and paint in Southland and central Otago for 6 weeks.

August 2005 - works on paper
In this show Tabatha continues her contemporary exploration into the historical significance of botanical art in New Zealand in connection to the process of colonisation. The works on show are based around Captain Cooks first map of New Zealand and inspiration has been gained from the Banks and Solander collection of plants 1769-1770.

Previously Exhibited work - works on canvas and board
Tabathas recent research includes contemporary botanical art and the NZ landscape with reference to colonial history.
